How Tillio started

A shop asked what a card costs

In 2021 one of us sat down with a hardware shop two streets away to work out what it paid to take a card. Four statements, three rate bands, a terminal lease with eighteen months left on it, and nobody at the other end of the phone who could say what a $20 sale actually cost. We built Tillio so that question has one answer, printed on the page, the same for every shop.

What we hold to

Four things we will not trade away

One price, in public
The rate is on the pricing page in numbers, not in a quote. It is the same whether you take $400 a week or $40,000, and it does not change because a card was issued abroad.
Your money, quickly
Takings move the next morning, every day of the year. We do not hold funds for a working week, and we do not pay ourselves out of the float.

Nothing to sign
No contract, no minimum term, no terminal lease. The reader is bought outright for $39 and stops being ours the moment it leaves the box.
A person on the phone
Support is staffed 7am to 8pm by people who have worked a counter. A reader that has stopped working is a till that has stopped working, and it gets answered that way.
